Student Absence

A valid excuse must be received within 24 hours of the absence in order for the absence to be excused. In the event of consecutive absences the valid excuse must be received with 24 hours of the first day of the absence.

Absences other than sickness or death in the family need to be excused before the absence. If the absence is longer than 3 days a Vacation/ Educational Leave Form should be filled out before the absence. The Utah state law allows a student to be absent for up to 10 consecutive days without being withdrawn from school if the Educational Leave Form is completed prior to leaving.
